In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Impeccable cleanliness — Guests repeatedly mention the spotless rooms and bathrooms, and daily housekeeping keeps things fresh.
  • Genuinely helpful staff — From booking onward travel to offering local advice on money exchange and attractions, the team goes beyond the basics.
  • Excellent value for the price — Given the quality of the rooms and service, guests feel the price is right – especially for a non-touristy neighborhood with cheaper eats.
  • Convenient transport links — A short walk to the Rio de Janeiro Subte station and nearby bus stops makes it easy to explore the city, even from a more residential area.
–

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Facilities are basic — The hotel is functional rather than full-service – no pool, gym, or restaurant on site, and the lowest rating category is facilities at 6.6.
  • Limited check-in window — Check-in is only from 12:00 to 21:00, which could be restrictive if you arrive late in the evening.
  • No on-site parking — There is no parking provided, so if you drive, you'll need to find street parking or a nearby garage.
  • Away from the tourist center — The Almagro location is more residential and less central, so you'll rely on transit or taxis to reach main sights.

“We loved our stay here. The young woman at reception was incredibly helpful and made us feel welcome. The location was great – cafes, supermarkets, and public transport were all close by. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower was excellent. Toiletries were provided and the room was cleaned daily. We were sad we couldn't stay longer, but she even booked us another place. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!”

“The owner speaks English and gives helpful info. Everything works, and there's a pantry with microwave and kettle. Close to Rio de Janeiro Subte station, with shops, eateries, and grocery stores nearby. Great value, super helpful and friendly staff. Secure with a front desk person. Fast Wi-Fi, A/C, and heating in the room. Away from the center but convenient with nearby subway and buses. Nice neighborhood with tree-lined streets. Shops, restaurants, big supermarkets. Best staff, great facility for the price. Fridge in room, daily cleaning. Great value, not central but a non-touristy area. Good food at cheaper prices. Two subway stations nearby. Clean, comfortable, helpful staff. Good showers.”
